What is the Scam Advisory Group?
The SAG is a trusted partner network inside the Bot Army. Members help intercept scams in the wild and redirect them to Apate’s bots. When you receive a scam message, you forward it to one of our operational bot numbers. The bots then engage scammers, extract intelligence, and feed that data into our counterintelligence network.
Your actions help surface new threats, fuel investigations, and are an essential action in the fight to dismantle the business model of scammers globally.
Is it safe?
Yes. Every interaction happens through Apate’s controlled bot environments. You never speak directly with scammers, and no personal information is ever exposed. The process is fully automated once you forward a message. Your role is to help route scam attempts into our system safely and anonymously.
Who can join the SAG?
We vet every applicant to maintain operational integrity. We accept cybersecurity professionals, fraud specialists, scambaiters, and individuals with a clear commitment to the mission. If you have experience or insight into scam operations - or simply want to contribute responsibly - you can apply to join.
What’s expected of members?
You’re not required to spend specific time or hit activity targets. You simply forward scam attempts when they reach you. Even one redirected scam can yield valuable intelligence. Members also receive periodic briefings on active scam trends, operational insights, and ways to amplify the mission.
Will my identity or data be shared?
No. Member identities are protected. We never publish or share individual details unless you explicitly opt in to public recognition. All forwarded data is stripped of personal identifiers before analysis. The focus is on the scam, not the recipient.
What’s in it for members?
SAG members get early access to intelligence briefings, Apate updates, and private debriefs on major takedowns. You also gain direct insight into how your contributions shape scam disruption globally. For many members, it’s a chance to apply their expertise to a purpose that matters - dismantling the business model of scammers.
What kind of scams should I send?
Any you encounter - from phishing messages and investment scams to fake job offers and crypto cons. All data helps strengthen the intelligence ecosystem.
